A moment in time
About 10 years ago I Broke my leg in a motorcycle accident, it was a big turning point in my life. It made me aware of my mortality and fragility. Stuck in a bed I was forced to confront my own thoughts. What is my future? Will I walk? Have I made the most of my time? I did not have full control of my thoughts, ideas seemed to come into awareness without my control. Welcome to the unconscious...

The Hacker Ethic: The mountain and the man →
There is a mountain between you and your work. You look up, gazing beyond it to where you want to be, and you give up. It’s too far. Too difficult. Too steep. Too much. You look back. The path is easy, known, and downhill. Then you look at your immediate surroundings. It’s warm and comfortable….
The power of an analogy is it helps you see what cannot otherwise be seen.
